To the rhythm of the candle flames

The quaint chapel sheltered from the summer sun beneath the foliage of the ancient trees. Inside, the discreet scent of incense and the psalms of the funeral service coming from the choir stalls dominated. Friends and relatives stood in silence, their eyes fixed upon the coffin of an extraordinary man. The memories danced one after the other as if to the rhythm of the candle flames.

Theodore Papaeliou served and honoured philately, the Society and the journal perhaps as few others did. Philotelia bows with respect to its dear departed fellow.
