THE POSTAL COMMUNICATIONS AND THE HISTORICAL CONJUCTURE IN THE HELLADIC AREA<\/span>
\n(Philately as a supplementary interpretative implement)<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Society, in cooperation with the Benetatos Cultural Center of the Psychiko Municipality and partly sponsored by the Hellenic Post, celebrates the 75 years of our journal Philotelia, which was first issued in 1924 and continues since then without interruption.<\/p>\n

The celebration of this event is realised with a philatelic presentation of the contemporary Hellenic history under the general title “The postal communications and the historical conjucture in the Helladic area – Philately as a supplementary interpretative implement”.<\/p>\n

The restrictions of the available space does not allow us to a broader presentation of the various facets of contemporary Hellenic history. However, this exhibition shows sufficiently enough how the historical facts are interwoven with the operation of the postal communications during the period in question. Wars, national conflicts, epidemics, financial problems etc. all influence the transmission of mail.<\/p>\n
