Nineteen years after the launch of www.hps.gr (1 July 2001), it was about time to revise and refresh the image of our Society. Grasping the opportunity, there was a thorough review, editing, and updating of the website’s texts. Photographic material was also added.
Modernization has long been due to the members and friends of the HPS, even more so today, at a time when the Society is very active, both inside and outside Greece, given the preparations for the big exhibition in 2021.
Fortunately, the total conversion work was big enough that the offers we received were so high that prevented us to assign the job to an IT company. At the same time it was small enough, so we decided to try to complete it in house. In addition, the software used was legally available on line with no charge, at least so far as the modules we needed. Quite pleasant is also the fact that thanks to the kind offer of an old and good friend of the HPS, the www.hps.gr continues to be hosted for free, as it has been the case for the last couple of years.
The conversion took place on the 2nd of June.
